The 24th Annual Feed the Need Community Food Drive is October 8th-12th! 98.9 KBAY is asking for your help in raising $150,000 for Whatcom County food banks. Every $10 donated can purchase $100 worth of food – so please, donate today! Donate at any Industrial Credit Union, Whatcom County Haggen Northwest Fresh store or donate online now.

The Need:

    • 1 in 5 Whatcom County households regularly use a food bank.
    • 35% of food bank recipients are children.
    • 44% of food bank households have at least one family member working.
    • 52% of food bank recipients have some level of college education.
    • Since 2007, the average monthly food bank visits have increased by 80%.
    • 30,000 Whatcom County residents visit food banks each month – enough to fill Civic Stadium 8 times.
    • 596,000 pounds of food are distributed each month – enough to fill 18 semi-trucks.

Follow Feed the Need on Facebook for updates and details. Thank you for helping us Feed the Need!

You can also join KBAY at a special Feed the Need broadcasts on this date:

  • Wednesday, October 10th from Noon-2pm with Amanda Richards at the Sehome Haggen in Bellingham.

Thank you for your help as we all come together to help Feed the Need with 98.9 KBAY.
