BELLINGHAM, WA. – A Bellingham man has been arrested in connection with a fatal overdose.

Bellingham Police say that the victim, a 34-year-old man, was found unresponsive at an apartment earlier this year.

Witnesses told investigators that the victim’s drug supplier had given him what he initially believed was cocaine on March 29th.

Shortly after ingesting the drug, the victim collapsed.

The suspected drug supplier went to a neighbor to get Narcan and admitted to the neighbor that he had accidentally given the victim fentanyl instead of cocaine.

The victim initially regained consciousness after being given several doses of Narcan.

Family members arrived at the apartment two days later, where medics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

Witnesses identified the drug supplier as 54-year-old Brian Christensen, who was arrested on Tuesday, September 26th, on manslaughter and drug charges.

Christensen remains at the Whatcom County Jail on $200,000 bail.
