OLYMPIA, Wash. – Your enhanced driver’s license or ID will cost more the next time it is up for renewal.

Starting Saturday, October 1st, it will cost an additional $3 per year to renew those enhanced documents.

The increase will help fund the state’s Move Ahead Washington revenue package.

Move Ahead Washington covers highway maintenance costs and ferry construction fees.

License and ID update fees will also go up from $10 to $20 as of October 1st.

The Department of Licensing also reminds residents that they will need an enhanced drivers license, enhanced state ID or U.S. Passport by May 3, 2023 to fly within the U.S. or to bordering countries.
