Ferndale man arrested for stabbing his brother

FERNDALE, WA. – (KGMI.com) A Ferndale man is in custody after allegedly stabbing his brother.

Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Deb Slater says deputies responded to a report of the stabbing on Matz Road around 4 a.m. on Thursday, January 4th.

The victim told deputies that the suspect entered the house “unwelcomed” and stabbed him six times when he was told to leave.

The victim was able to escape and called for help.

He was taken to PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham for the stab wounds, including one that punctured his lung.

Deputies arrested the suspect, 18-year-old Chief Saluskin-Pitt, without incident.

He remains at the Whatcom County Jail without bail.
