Indigenous People’s Day celebration to take place in Lummi Nation

BELLINGHAM, WA – Community members will gather on Monday to celebrate Indigenous People’s Day in Bellingham.

Several local organizations are partnering to host a celebration to honor and learn from local Indigenous leaders.

The event will include a free salmon dinner and an appearance by keynote speaker Dr. Evan Adams.

Adams is a Coast Salish physician and actor known for his starring role in the movie “Smoke Signals.”

The event takes place from 5-8 pm at the Wex’liem Community Building near Gooseberry in Lummi Nation.

Those who can’t attend can also watch online via Facebook.
