BELLINGHAM, WA – The Lummi Nation School had to be evacuated Wednesday evening after receiving a bomb threat.

The threat was called in during an online Parent Advisory Committee meeting around 5 p.m., according to Bellingham Police Public Information Officer Megan Peters

She says it was juveniles who interrupted the meeting, and later made the threat to blow up the school when staff attempted to stop them.

Authorities evacuated the building and conducted a search with canine units before giving the all-clear to resume normal operations on Thursday.

Officials for the school say they are cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

Lummi Police are working with the FBI to get more information on the hacking that took place over Zoom.
