Man found dead in water near Taylor Dock in Bellingham

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Bellingham Police are investigating after a man was found dead in the water off Taylor Dock in Bellingham.

Reports of a body in the water in the cove near the statue came in at about 7:14 a.m. Sunday.

The boardwalk was closed between Boulevard Park and the gazebo for much of the day while police and fire personnel brought the body to shore.

Detectives determined the death of the man in his 40’s likely involved violence.

The Medical Examiner is conducting an autopsy to determine the manner of death.
