BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A new art installation in Bellingham’s Columbia neighborhood has been dedicated to a teen who lost her life earlier this year.

Local nonprofit organization From A Child’s Point Of View said that a new 40 ft road mural has been completed at the intersection of Lynn and W North Streets.

The mural was designed by three high school students who wanted to highlight the creatures affected by water pollutants in Whatcom County.

They worked with local artists and the City of Bellingham to get all the proper permits and set up road blocks to get the mural on the ground.

The teens also chose to dedicate the mural in memory of Lucy Guerra, one of their classmates who was killed in a tragic accident in May.
