BELLINGHAM, WA – (KGMI.com) A few highways will see closures starting Tuesday Jan. 2.

A lane and an on-ramp south of Bellingham will be closed for most of the day Tuesday.

Drivers should expect I-5’s southbound right lane to be closed from milepost 242 to 243 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Nulle Road’s on-ramp will also be closed during this time.

WSDOT says the closure is for maintenance crews to remove trees leaning on the freeway.

In addition, State Route 9 will have overnight closures in both directions near Hatley Road in Nooksack north of Nugent’s Corner starting Tuesday night through Thursday morning.

The highway will be closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night and WSDOT says the closure is for utility work.

For more information about closures, go to WSDOT’s website.
