BELLINGHAM, WA – (KGMI.com) A recycling company is reaching out to the Bellingham community ahead of a controversial project that’s in the works.

Canadian company ABC Recycling is hosting a neighborhood meeting next month to share the details of their proposed metal shredding facility on Marine Drive.

Representatives from ABC will explain the processes and equipment involved with the metal shredder and answer questions from the public.

The project has received criticism from residents who harbor concerns about the noise and traffic that the facility will bring to the area.

ABC Community Relations Manager Riley Sweeney says the meeting will give people a chance to view the site plan and learn about how their potential concerns will be addressed.

It takes place on Tuesday, December 5th, from 6:30 to 8 pm at the Squalicum Boathouse.

A recording of the presentation will be available on ABC’s website after the meeting for those who can’t attend.
