BELLINGHAM, WA – The latest vote count didn’t bring any position changes to races in Bellingham and Whatcom County.

Challenger Kim Lund increased her lead to more than 2000 votes over incumbent Bellingham Mayor Seth Fleetwood.

Donnell “Tank” Tanksley now leads Doug Chadwick by more than 3100 votes in the race for Whatcom County Sheriff.

Mark Stremler appears to have ousted Kathy Kershner from the Whatcom County Council.

The auditor estimates there are only 250 ballots left to count, and will certify the election results on November 28th.

Voter turnout in Whatcom County currently stands at a little over 50%.

That’s the highest turnout of any of Washington’s 39 counties.
