WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Another heat advisory has been issued for western Whatcom and Skagit counties.

The National Weather Service says the advisory will remain in effect until 11 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6.

Temperatures will be in the 80’s and could even reach the lower 90’s in parts of the region, posing a moderate risk of heat-related illness. This is the second straight day that a heat advisory has been issued for the area, with Everson reaching upwards of 95 degrees at some points of the day.

A red flag warning was also issued for the west slopes of the North Cascades through Saturday due to hot, dry and unstable conditions that could fuel fires.
