SKAGIT COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A swarm of bees caused some minor issues for commuters in Skagit County.

The County’s Dept of Emergency Management told My Bellingham Now that a truck carrying beehives overturned on Burlington Blvd Friday morning.

About 40 hives fell off the truck, but crews were quickly able to clear the crash and return the bees back to their boxes.

The incident comes nearly a year – to the date – of a massive bee spill near Lynden.

My Bellingham Now previously reported that an overturned semi released about 14 million bees near a farm on Weidcamp Rd last May, forcing the road to close for over 24 hours to contain them.
