EDMONTON, ALBERTA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The Bellingham Bells will play for the West Coast League Championship following a 5-2 win over the Edmonton Riverhawks to win the North Division Tuesday night, Aug. 12.

WCL All-Star Devyn Hernandez had a solid start, allowing two runs on five hits over four innings of work in the game in Edmonton, Alberta.

Chihiro Sato sparkled in relief with no hits or walks and two strike outs in a 3-inning stint that was cut short by a rain delay.

Right-fielder Rominic Quiban was the star at the plate, hitting 2-for-5 including a double and two RBI.

The Bells will now face the Portland Pickles in the WCL title game on Thursday, Aug. 14.

Bellingham hasn’t won a championship since 2014.

The Bellingham-Portland matchup will be the two teams first meeting this season and the first time they’ve met in a WCL Championship game.
