Bellingham woman accused of stabbing, taken into custody

BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A Bellingham woman is in custody following a stabbing that sent another person to the hospital.

Bellingham Police Department spokesperson Megan Peters says that the suspect is accused of stabbing a family member at their home the afternoon of Friday, Sept. 13.

The suspect, identified as 40-year-old Caroline Dietzgen, barricaded herself in a room after the attack. Officers found Dietzgen with self-inflicted wounds and transported her and the victim to the hospital.

Dietzgen has since been booked into the Whatcom County Jail without bail.
