BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Bellingham’s latest tiny home village is up and running.

HomesNOW! celebrated the grand opening of the North Haven Tiny Home Community on Northwest Avenue on Tuesday.

North Haven contains 19 new tiny home units, in addition to 23 more that were brought in from the old Unity Village in Fairhaven.

Residents experiencing homelessness began moving into the village in May.

My Bellingham Now previously reported that the City of Bellingham bought the site, located at the former North Coast Credit Union branch, in April 2024.

Even after the five-month-long project to build the village, HomesNOW! Chairman Doug Gustafson says this is just the beginning of what’s to come.

“The goal after we get this finished up and people all moved in is to, next year, build another one; do another village and help house more people,” Gustafson said in a video posted to Facebook.

HomesNOW! is nonprofit organization led by volunteers who have done most of the construction themselves.
