LYNDEN, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Nearly a dozen workers are being let go as a hardware store in Lynden prepares to close.

CHS Northwest is selling its True Value Store, according to a notice filed with the state Employment Security Department on Wednesday, Jan. 28.

The layoffs are expected to initially impact 11 workers and will go into effect on April 1.

The notice stated that there may be more sales of other CHS-owned stores across the state.

CHS Senior Director of Operations Eric Ellis told My Bellingham Now in a statement that they don’t intend to close the location but are looking for a new owner who is more focused on the retail experience.

CHS Northwest is a Lynden-based agribusiness cooperative that operates farm and home stores across Washington and Oregon.
