WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Resources continue to come in for those affected by last month’s historic flooding.

The pop-up Disaster Assistance Center is returning to Nooksack Valley Middle School on Thursday from 6-9 p.m.

Representatives from several local and state agencies will be on site to help with replacing documents, damage verification, insurance claims and more.

Those who attend can also apply for state disaster aid after the state recently freed up $2.5 million for eligible residents.

Separate from the aid center, the U.S. Department of Agriculture is now offering technical and financial assistance for farmers who were affected by the flood.

People can contact their local USDA Service Center to find out how they can get help with their recovery from crop, forestland, or shellfish and livestock losses and damages.

Meanwhile, Whatcom County announced that the two county-funded flood debris drop-off sites at RDS and Republic in Ferndale are ending after this coming weekend.

Starting on Monday, Jan. 19, residents will be charged for any debris they deliver to either site.
