BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Finding a spot to park at one of Bellingham’s top summertime destinations just got much easier.

The Port of Bellingham said 109 new parking spaces are now open to the public at the downtown waterfront.

The expanded parking is located near the intersection of Granary and Roeder avenues as an extension of the current lot, which has about 100 spaces itself.

The Port noted in a social media post that the expansion is temporary, meaning the lot could be replaced by a building or open space as redevelopment moves forward on the waterfront.

Still, the expanded parking is expected to be in place for the foreseeable future.

It comes in addition to a free bike valet the Port rolled out this summer in an effort to increase access to other types of parking.
