WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A local non-profit is asking for volunteers to help with critical flood recovery work in the coming days.

The Whatcom Long Term Recovery Group says it’s in urgent need of volunteers on Saturday, Jan. 17 and Monday, Jan. 19.

They’ll be cleaning out flood-damaged houses and removing damaged insulation from crawl spaces.

Anyone interested can meet the group at the Sumas Advent Christian Church to pick up safety supplies and equipment.

Both Saturday and Monday’s work groups take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

You can learn more and sign up to volunteer at whatcomstrong.com.
