FERNDALE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Ferndale residents will have to wait just a bit longer for a popular park to reopen.

Whatcom County Parks and Rec say it’s expecting Hovander Homestead Park to fully reopen by the end of the month.

The boat launch parking lot and off-leash dog area are currently the only areas of the park that are open.

Hovander has been closed since Dec. 10 due to flooding at the Nooksack River.

Visitors are still being asked to respect the posted closures as repairs continue.
