Human remains found on Skagit River near Concrete prompt investigation

SKAGIT COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – An investigation is underway after local law enforcement found human remains on the Skagit River.

The Skagit County Sheriff’s Office says deputies found the remains just east of Concrete during a boat search of the river Thursday. King5 reports the agency was conducting a follow-up on a missing-person case before the discovery.

Members of the public are being asked to avoid the area near milepost 90 while detectives continue to investigate the scene.

The Skagit County Coroner’s Office will identify the remains at a later date.

The Sheriff’s Office says more information will be released as it becomes available.
