FERNDALE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Hundreds of Ferndale households remain without power following a crash downtown Tuesday morning.

According to City of Ferndale spokesperson Megan Juenemann, a semitruck was leaving a construction site near the intersection of Main Street and Axton Court when it collided with power lines just before 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 8.

The downed power lines blocked the road for just over an hour. Juenemann says no one was injured and no other vehicles were involved.

According to PSE, the outage initially left more than 1,000 customers without power.

There are still 297 customers affected by the outage as of 4:35 p.m. Tuesday.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
