WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Overnight I-5 travelers could see some delays in the coming days.

WSDOT says that the northbound and southbound lanes of I-5 will be reduced to one lane near the Alger exit (MP 242) starting at 8 p.m. Monday, April 6.

Crews will be constructing temporary lane crossovers in preparation for fish passage work later this spring.

That work will close part of I-5 northbound for a 12-day span in May.

This closure comes in addition to the I-5 northbound shutdown between North Lake Samish and Old Fairhaven Parkway, which still has no estimated time for reopening.
