SEATTLE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A Lummi Nation woman has entered pleas in connection to a suspicious house fire on tribal land.

Court documents state that 46-year-old Chardelle Martin pleaded guilty to assault with intent to commit arson in US District Court earlier this year.

In May 2024, Martin poured gasoline around a travel trailer and set it ablaze following an argument with two people inside. The trailer was destroyed and a nearby home was badly damaged, but no one was seriously hurt.

My Bellingham Now previously reported that Martin was taken into custody the next day, following a brief pursuit through Bellingham.

She pled guilty to charges stemming from that arrest on Tuesday, March 10, which include malicious mischief and eluding a police vehicle.
