LYNDEN, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A Lynden woman has been sentenced in connection with a drive-by shooting in Bellingham.

Court documents state that 27-year-old Jordan Velthuizen will spend the next three years in prison after pleading guilty to three charges.

My Bellingham Now previously reported that she was a passenger in a vehicle whose driver, Jesus Monreal-Bojorquez, is accused of shooting a man in the Wal-Mart parking lot in late 2023.

After the shooting, Velthuizen was seen throwing the suspect weapon out of the vehicle while deputies were pulling them over.

She pled guilty last Tuesday, Feb. 10 to drive-by shooting, second degree assault and drug possession charges.

Monreal-Bojorquez remains at the Whatcom County Jail on $2 million bail, with a trial date scheduled for March 9.
