Man dies after boat capsizes in Bellingham Bay

BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A man was killed after a boat he was on capsized off the coast of Bellingham.

The Coast Guard’s Puget Sound Sector said the incident occurred on Saturday evening in Bellingham Bay.

Boat crews were able to right the vessel as rescuers recovered the unresponsive 49-year-old man from the water.

The man was transported to the Coast Guard Station in Bellingham, but he later died from his injuries.

No one else was aboard the vessel at the time of the incident.
