Mount Vernon Police ends search for missing woman

MOUNT VERNON, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Mount Vernon Police say their search for a missing person has ended in tragedy.

42-year-old Alana Taylor was last seen around Dec. 25 at her Mount Vernon apartment.

On Monday afternoon, Skagit County Sheriff’s deputies were alerted to a deceased person that matched Taylor’s description north of Mount Vernon.

Investigators later confirmed that the body was Taylor’s.

According to police, Taylor may have been experiencing a mental health crisis at the time of her disappearance.

The Skagit County Coroner has not yet determined a cause of death.
