Seahawks/NFL News

The Seahawks will open their playoff journey against a familiar foe.

Seattle will host San Francisco in the divisional round this Saturday after the 49ers beat the Eagles. San Fran overcame an early injury to star tight end George Kittle to edge the defending champs 23-19 yesterday.

No time has been announced yet for the Seahawks’ game, which will be a highly-anticipated rubber match after each team took one game in the regular season.

There will be plenty of representation from the NFC West in the divisional round after the LA Rams beat Carolina 34-31 on Saturday. They’ll now travel to Chicago to take on the Bears, who are fresh off an epic comeback win over the Packers.

Over in the AFC, the Denver Broncos will host the Buffalo Bills on Saturday after the Bills won a tight road game against the Jaguars.

The wild card round caps off tonight when the Pittsburgh Steelers host the Houston Texans on Monday Night Football. The winner will move on to play the Patriots in Foxborough on Sunday in the divisional round.

Coverage begins at 4:00 and kickoff is at 5:15 on KPUG.

Kraken/Torrent News

The Kraken are looking to avoid dropping their third straight game as their road trip out east continues. They’re in Madison Square Garden tonight to take on the New York Rangers.

The Kraken kicked off their road trip with a 3-2 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday as they suffered back-to-back losses for the first time in nearly a month. But tonight could be a good chance to end their skid, as the Rangers have lost six of their last 11 games, including three straight themselves.

Coverage begins at 3:30 and puck drops at 4 on KGMI.

Meanwhile, the Torrent lost to the Minnesota Frost 6-2 yesterday to end their road trip.

The Huskies women weren’t as lucky, they fell to Purdue 78-72 in overtime. It was the first time they’ve dropped back-to-back games this season.

Western basketball had a tough weekend, with both the men and women losing on Saturday.

The men fell to Montana State Billings in a 94-92 thriller at Carver Gym. Sophomore Aidan Rice had 37 points, but it wasn’t enough to hold the Yellowjackets back from a monster 56-point second half.

The Western women fell to 16th nationally ranked Central Washington 75-58 on the road. Former Lynden Christian standout Libby Stump scored 25 points, but it wasn’t enough to hand the Wildcats their first loss in GNAC play.
