Procession to be held for young Lynden Marine

LYNDEN, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The city of Lynden is in mourning following the tragic death of a recent high school graduate.

The Lynden Tribune reports Kevin Axcel Antonio-Jose died of cardiac arrest on Sept. 11 in North Carolina.

The 23-year-old graduated from Lynden High School in 2019 and was nearing five years of active service as a corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps.

The Lynden Chamber of Commerce says his remains are being returned to Lynden at 8p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20. Area residents will likely see a processional pass north on the Guide Meridian through Front Street.

Public visitation will take place from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, before a 1 p.m. funeral service at Gillies Funeral Home. Following the service, there will be a full military honors burial at the Lynden Cemetery.

Kevin is survived by his father Paulino, his mother Celedonia and his brothers Edgar and Eric.
