WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Local rescue teams are searching the North Cascades for a missing Canadian hiker.
The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office said 34-year-old Gursimran Singh (or Randhawa) was expected back in British Columbia four days ago.
His last known location was the South Twin, 10 miles southwest of Mount Baker.
The Sheriff’s Office said rescue teams found his car on the Middle Fork Road. In an update Thursday, July 2, the office said more Search and Rescue (SAR) units were deployed, along with support from Skagit, Everett, Seattle and Snohomish counties.
“Local SAR units active in the response include Bellingham Mountain Rescue, Whatcom 4×4, Summit to Sound and U.S. Customs and Border Protection,” the statement continued.
Anyone who has seen Singh or knows of his whereabouts is asked to call 911.
