SKAGIT COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Skagit County could be getting another judge on their superior court.

SB 5836 was pre-filed ahead of the 2026 Washington legislative session. It would add a fifth judge to Skagit County Superior Court’s bench.

Even if the bill is passed, funding would need to be designated for the fifth judge by the end of June next year.

If there is no funding in place by that time, the law would be nullified.
