SKAGIT COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Residents in Skagit County have a chance to give their thoughts on the future of the area’s agriculture industry.

The Skagit County Planning Commission is hosting a public hearing on Tuesday to get feedback on proposed changes to the county’s agritourism policies.

The commission drafted an agritourism proposal in 2023 to clarify how the county regulates activities like farm tours, weddings and other events that take place on farmland.

But it decided to revise the proposal after hearing from local businesses, farms and community members.

The commission has now released a list of code amendments that includes zoning limitations on where, when and how often agritourism is allowed to take place.

Tuesday’s meeting takes place at 6:00 p.m. in the Commissioner’s Hearing Room.

The planning commission is scheduled to make a decision on the proposed changes on Nov. 18.
