WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Get ready for more changes if you’re traveling south of Bellingham.

WSDOT said both lanes of northbound I-5 near Chuckanut Creek are shifting to a temporary bypass road starting at 8:00 Wednesday night.

The two-lane bypass is expected to remain in place until September while crews rebuild the highway to install a new fish-passable culvert underneath.

The southbound lanes made a similar shift on Monday, June 15.

The speed limit across both bypass roads is being set to 50 mph until the repairs are finished.
