The college basketball tournament tipped off today.

The No. 5 seeded Gonzaga men face No. 12 McNeese in the Midwest region of the bracket at 4:25 p.m.

After that, seventh-seeded Washington State takes on 10th-seeded Drake in the East region at 7:05.

On the women’s side, the top-seeded Lady Cougs are hosting Lamar at 6:00 p.m. in the inaugural Women’s Basketball Invitational Tournament.

The second-seeded UW Huskies follow by hosting Georgetown at 7:00.

 

The Seattle Kraken have a crucial game tonight in their hunt for a postseason berth.

They’re on the road facing the Vegas Golden Knights, who currently own the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

The Kraken enter the game 11 points behind the Knights with 15 games left in the season.

Seattle will look to get a few points closer and end their five-game skid.

The Mariners are back in action tonight.

They’re facing the Cincinnati Reds at 6:40 in Cactus League play.

The M’s have won six of their last seven games.

They have seven more spring training matches before opening day next Thursday.

 

Some tragic news out of the WNBA.

Seattle Storm CFO Tricia McLean has died at the age of 61.

The team says she died on Monday following a medical emergency.

McLean was in Seattle for three of the team’s four titles.

She was the Storm’s longest-tenured employee.

 

And Western Washington University’s star senior has garnered national honors.

Vikings forward Brooke Walling was named by the WBCA as an honorable mention All-American for the second straight season.

Walling capped off her career with Western by averaging 16.5 points and 9 rebounds while starting every game for the team last season.

She was part of three national tournament runs, including one to the championship game back in 2022.

Walling leaves as one of only three players to be named as an All-American twice.
