FERNDALE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A handful of roadwork will resume on I-5 following the Labor Day weekend.

WSDOT says that construction will begin on Tuesday night for the southbound lanes in Ferndale.

From 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., only one lane will be open as crews repave the road from the Custer rest area through Portal Way.

This closure will be in effect Tuesday night through Thursday morning.

On the northbound side, commuters should prepare for a left lane closure Wednesday.

Crews will be completing guardrail repairs between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. near the North Lake Samish exit south of Bellingham.
