DRAYTON HARBOR, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The Washington Department of Ecology is seeking public feedback on its plan to clean up Drayton Harbor.

Ecology recently released a draft of its plan to address high levels of fecal bacteria in the harbor and the streams that flow into it.

The department is proposing a Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) to set targets for pollution reduction and eventually bring it up to the state’s standard for water quality.

Ecology is accepting comments online or by mail through Sept. 26.

It’s also hosting an informational meeting at the Blaine Public Library next Thursday at 6 p.m., which will be accessible via Zoom.
