BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Western is moving forward with plans for a major new draw for students.

The university announced that construction of its student development and success center will begin on March 24.

The new 29,000-square-foot building will be located on at the south end of campus.

It will serve as a welcome center, event space and study area while housing a variety of advising and support services for students.

The construction will begin with demolition work in April and early May, which the school warns will cause some noise.

The facility is expected to be finished in fall 2027.
